Tunnel View

Tunnel View held a lot of promise as the clouds were scattered against the fading sun. We shot these images;

We had a great deal of discussion about depth of field, use of split-density ND filters, balance between aperture and the elimination of vignetting, and learning to use the histogram in balancing exposure. Afetr sunset it was down to the Yosemite Lodge for dinner and then off to Lower Yosemite Fall for night shooting! All this before the workshop actually began!

Early spring, the March weeklong- 3/6 - 3/14/09

OH wow, what a week! 5 solid days of shooting Yosemite National Park. A group of 2 participants allowed us to do what we wanted on a moments notice. And what a week it was!

Leana D. from the east coast, and Lem L., also from the east coast, arrived on Sunday afternoon, and no sooner did they set down their suitcases we were out shooting! Neither Leana nor Lem had been to Yosemite and there were huge smiles on their faces. There were clouds drifting by, so Leana and I drove from the Yosemite Lodge to Tunnel View to meet Lem and on the way stopped at Valley View and shot these images. Then, up to Tunnel View for the sunset.
